SENIOR SCIENTIST IN STEM CELL BIOLOGY

STANFORD UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

Cutting edge stem cell research and genetic engineering. Position available for candidate with three or more years of postdoctoral experience. Strong background in molecular biology and cell sorting (FACS) a must. Expertise in fluorescence and confocal microscopy, mouse models, mammalian cell culture, and retroviral and lentiviral transduction desirable. Stem cell experience, muscle or hematopoiesis, a plus. Stanford position is at the level of Senior Research Scientist in the new Center for Clinical Sciences Research.  Opportunity to lead research team, great transition-to-faculty-level position.  Position involves new microRNA discovery, mechanisms underlying stem cell fate decisions, artificial bioengineered niches, with therapeutic applications (see http://www.stanford.edu/group/blau).
