Each year, BioMASS organizes a camping trip for incoming First Year Biosciences PhD students to get away from campus and get to know each other and some current students. This year's trip will be from Friday, September 19 through Sunday, September 21 at Portola Redwoods. The camping is very simple car camping and BioMASS can provide camping supplies if you don't have your own. We will also organize carpools, so don't worry if you don't have a car.

To register for this event, go to the registration page and fill out the form BEFORE Monday, September 1. We are asking everyone to send in a $50 check to hold their spot, which will be torn up or returned when you arrive for the camping trip (address and information are on the registration site, but the check must be recieved by Monday, September 8). The size of the campsite limits the number of people that we can take, so we recommend that you sign up/send in your deposit early in order to ensure that you get a spot. This weekend is really a great chance to get to know people outside of your program and a number of students say that they met their core group of friends during the First Year Camping Trip.
