Abigail Garner graduated from UCSB with a BS in Biological Sciences in 1973 and worked for many years in basic research laboratories before returning to school at Stanford University in 2002. After graduating in 2004 with a Masters degree in Biological Sciences, she started working with the Biodesign group as an Associate Site Editor for bmesource.org.

She is currently a medical device consultant for WingTech Ltd.
