"I came to ONSET because the firm leverages my operating background better than other environments. The consultative approach we take when working with entrepreneurs allows me to help them develop their strategies and use my industry network to find the right contacts. It's rewarding to use my experience at several successful medical start-ups to add real value to early-stage companies." Leslie Bottorff joined ONSET Ventures in 1998 after 19 years in the medical industry. At Medtronic, Inc. she was vice president of sales and marketing of CardioRhythm, one of its divisions. She has also served in various marketing and sales management positions at both venture-backed start-up companies and large companies including Nellcor, Inc., Ventritex, Inc., Menlo Care, Inc., and General Electric's Medical Systems division. At ONSET Ventures, Leslie specializes in medical investment opportunities. She works with the firm's portfolio companies, providing hands-on assistance with business strategies and market development, recruiting, financial management and strategic introductions. Leslie has worked closely with several portfolio company management teams early-on in the company’s inception including Curon Medical, Novasys Medical, Embolic Protection, Inc., where she was interim VP of Marketing and Business Development, and at Walnut Technologies, a company she co-founded. Leslie currently serves on the boards of Neuronetics Inc., Novasys Medical, Spinal Concepts, Inc. and VisionCare Ophthalmic Technologies. Leslie has a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Purdue University and a master's degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
