Description For graduate students (master’s and doctoral), introduces information and approaches used by physicians to understand human disease, focusing on type I and type II diabetes mellitus, using lectures, computer demonstrations (including Web resources and disease simulation software), field trips to clinics, clinical lab, and Entelos, Inc. Student projects of their own choosing and generally focus on diabetes, but may involve other diseases if a group of at least 3 students chooses to do so.

How are teams formed Students sign up, based on their interest in available topics; an effort is made to include individuals from different disciplines on each team
What are the major work deliverables Team projects which involve a midterm presentation and written report as well as a final presentation, poster and written report. Written peer review of another group’s midterm report and a written short analysis of a journal article are also required.
How are project areas selected Students choose projects from a list of possible topics, but they can propose a new topic as well.
