| April 4, 2008 Meeting |
Three of our very own grad students will be presenting on their work and allowing you to ask questions. This was a very popular meeting last year as it gives everyone a chance to learn about interesting research that your fellow Black people are working on. We will have presentations from various fields of research so everyone should be interested.
As always, dinner will be provided, starting at 5:30pm. Hope to see you there!

| March 7, 2008 Meeting |
1) One of our fellow grad students, Courtney Bonam, will present on the issue of Environmental Justice/Racism and how implicit racial biases could factor into the production of environmental racism.
2) We will hear from several BGSA members that have been involved with various diversity initiatives, and learn how we, as a student organization, can become more involved with the efforts to recruit and retain a diverse graduate student and faculty population.
3) You love Black people and wouldn't miss a chance to see our pretty faces.
So I hope to see you out. 5:30pm in Hacienda Commons. As always, dinner will be provided.

| December 7, 2008 Meeting |
We'll be hearing from representatives of several community organizations who will talk about the services their groups provide, the role of Black volunteerism in their work and what it all means for us as members of the community.
Also, this is your first chance to reserve spots for Black Ice Weekend 2008!!!!! You MUST be present at the meeting to reserve your spot or send a proxy. Spots are reserved through payment of a deposit or the full amount of the trip. |

| This month, in light of Jena 6 and other incidents of campus racism across the country, we'll discuss how issues of race and racism impact us as graduate students here at Stanford and how we can take positive and empowering action. The Black Ice ski trip, community service opportunities and BGSA t-shirt design contest will also be discussed. As well, please remember to bring dues ($30) |
