Title: “ ‘That Which Changeth Nought’: Passing a Joke and Getting Blocked by Character in Chaucer’s Troilus and Criseyde.”

Abstract: Briefly, my paper is about the incestuous scene between Pandarus and Criseyde in the middle of Troilus and Criseyde, or rather, it (in part) explores why criticism has avoided discussing the scene.... I talk about the moment as a joke, a nothing, a thing that can't be evaluated (supposedly) because of its status as a joke and because of the narrative commitments surrounding the "romance plot"
