About the Berkeley-Stanford Conference

The Berkeley–Stanford conference is an annual conference showcasing the best work from graduate students in the English departments of Berkeley and Stanford. The conference is hosted alternately at each campus. It provides an opportunity for students to take advantage of the closeness of the two universities, and to share their latest work in panels, get feedback on work in progress in a workshop, debate a range of issues at a roundtable, hear speakers from each others’ faculty, and to get to know each other better.

The conference is organised and funded by both departments. There are lots of different ways to get involved, from giving a brief position paper at a roundtable, to getting feedback on a dissertation chapter at a workshop.
