Why play badminton?

badminton is the fastest racquet sport in the world.

badminton is fun for all ages and skill levels.

the ford center is the most happening place on campus.

When/where do we practice?
See Practice Info
What is the difference between the "team" and the "club"?
The team is for those who want to play competitively (train, play in tournaments, etc.), and the club is for those who would like to play recreationally. Playing on the team is still really fun though!! There are separate club and team email lists, so you will only get information relevant to you. No experience is required for either team or club.
Do I need a racket?
No, we provide rackets for you to use, but if you're interested in becoming a serious player, you'll want to get one at some point.
Is it ok if I show up late or miss a practice?
If you're in the club, yes. Club members need only to pay club dues. If you're on the team, yes, but... We'd like team members to come as much as they can. That said, we understand that you have lots of things to do, and if you can't make it to a practice, no one's going to get mad. Even the most dedicated of us have to miss practice sometimes.
You mean I have to pay money for this?
Yes, yes you do. We tried getting our equipment for free, but companies had this way of wanting to make money, so all club and team members (with Stanford affiliation) are required to pay dues of $45 per quarter.
What's the deal with getting course credit for badminton?
It's very simple. If you want 1 unit for being a member of either the club or the team, just register on Axess. We do not require anyone to do this; it is completely optional, and should not affect your Stanford Badminton experience in any way.
So what do I have to do to officially become a part of the club/team?
Sign a waiver, pay dues. And if you want to be on the team, show up as much as you can.
You didn't answer my question, what do I do now?
Fear not, there are people who can help you.
Co-Captains: Brian Sa, Patrick Shih, and Kin Seng Choo
