Emotional Reactivity and Regulation in Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders This study looks at how youth with autism experience their emotions, and to what extent they use emotion regulation strategies to change specific emotions and thus alter the way they feel about a given situation. We hope that our research will lead to changes in increasing the effectiveness of current autism therapies. The study consists of three sessions (with a possible fourth to confirm your child's ASD diagnosis) and you will receive a compensation of $30 for each completed session plus an additional $30 for completing the online questionnaires.

Intranasal Oxytocin Treatment for Social Deficits in Children With Autism At present, pharmacotherapies target only associated features of autism, with no effective drug treatments for the social impairments. Several lines of evidence now suggest that the neuropeptide oxytocin (OT) may be an effective treatment for the core social deficits in autism. Here we will test the effects of twice daily intranasal OT (24IU) over a 4-week period for enhancing social deficits. This research has high potential to lead to the development of more effective treatments and earlier interventions for children with autism.
