Thanks to a local Stanford alum, the SAS will soon be the recipient of a generous donation of a valuable telescope and mount.
 
The observatory will provide a secure and permanent structure to house the telescope and our other equipment, and will be situated on campus far from distracting lights. With a permanent mount and attached camera, we will also be able to train students to take pictures of celestial objects. This student-run observatory will enable the SAS to hold events accommodating everyone from students who have never looked through a telescope to seasoned astrophotographers.
