Meet the Team

Stanford Archery Sheri Rhodes Sheri Rhodes is the head coach of the Stanford Archery Team and has decades of experience in the sport. In May 2003 she was named U.S. Women’s Olympic Team coach for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. In addition, she is the current head coach for the U.S. Women’s Gold Track program and has led U.S. Archery Teams at numerous international competitions throughout the last twenty years. Her experience also spans the world of collegiate archery. Rhodes was herself one of the nation’s top collegiate archers while a member of the Arizona State University team. She then went on to coach the Arizona team, leading the school to national titles during every one of her 17 years with the program.

Stanford Archery Spencer Peck Spencer is President of the Stanford Archery Program and has been highly involved with the program all four years of his time at Stanford, serving as Equipment Director and spearheading many changes in the program. Within his first year of shooting, he finished in the top 10 at the West Region championship in 2006. Spencer has extensive experience teaching adults and children archery through JOAD and summer camps, and has even dabbled in making his own bows. He is a NAA certified Level II Coach, and is a junior majoring in biochemistry.

Stanford Archery Pei Zhang A senior majoring in Biology, Pei is entering her fourth year as a member of the Stanford women’s compound team. During her freshman year, she helped women’s compound take sixth place at the 2006 United States Intercollegiate Archery Championships in its first year competing. The year after, the team took home bronze. As Community Programs director, she helps organize private and group lessons, and as a coach, she looks forward to meeting new people and helping to cultivate interest in archery in the community. Pei is a certified NAA Level II coach.

Stanford Archery Corey Hiti Corey Hiti is a senior majoring in Human Biology with a concentration in sports physiology and has plans of becoming a doctor. Corey is the has served as Campus Programs Director for the Stanford Archery Team and is a member of the men’s recurve team. He enjoys discussing the biomechanics of shooting and endorses the fine drink Propel as an excellent way to stay hydrated. Corey is a certified NAA Level II coach.

Stanford Archery Jimmy Chion Jimmy, a recurve shooter majoring in Psychology and Mechanical Engineering, has been shooting since his freshman year. He has been teaching students various subjects (ranging from math to psychology to archery) for the past five jobs he has held. He has been teaching archery to kids and adults alike for much of his archery career. During the season, he trains hard in order to make it big one day. Jimmy is a certified NAA Level II coach.

Stanford Archery Kris Toivola Kris is a sophomore at Stanford majoring in Materials Science and Engineering. He began shooting with the Stanford team his freshman year and has loved to shoot things ever since. At last year's USIAC tournament, he was a member of the Bronze medal Mixed team. As this year's Men's Team Captain, he plans to lead the team to greater success. He has greatly improved within two years and broke the 1000 mark on a FITA last spring. Kris is a Level I certified coach, and knows how to shoot.

Stanford Archery Frances Le Frances Le, JOAD Director, started shooting her freshman year, plans to major in Electrical Engineering here at Stanford, and is now part of the crucial Women's Recurve Team. Her enthusiasm (practically equivalent to former JOAD director Amy Yu) can be seen during JOAD on Saturdays. Frances should not be confused with our assistant coach, Francis Parchaso. Frances is a NAA Level I certified coach.

Stanford Archery Katherine Boren Katherine, a junior majoring in Economics, is the Women's Team Captian for Stanford Archery. After joining the team her freshman year, she had risen immediatedly, taking part in the West Region Bronze Medal compound team in 2007. She hopes to lead the team to greater victories this year, and will use her talents to push the team further. Katherine is a certified NAA Level II coach.

Stanford ArcheryRusi Yan Rusi is the Finance Director of the Stanford Archery Program and a member of the women's recurve team. She is a senior majoring in Economics and Mathematics. When she started archery at the beginning of her sophomore year, she found a new interest that she would like to share with curious individuals interested in the sport. Rusi is a NAA Level I coach.

Stanford Archery Sith "Joe" Sicoravit Sith "Joe" Sicoravit is natively from Thailand, but has studied at Stanford and been a dedicated member since his freshman year. As a previous practitioner of the Dark Force, he resented his past and put down his dual light sabers for good and is the team's Vice President. He found a new passion in archery when he first came to Stanford and has been shooting well since then. He holds a NAA Level II Coaching certification.

Amanda Le Amanda, a major in Communication, has been an integral part of the team both as a recurve shooter and as Equipment Director. Amanda is NAA Level I certified. jump to top
