Be a backpacking leader for a Pre-Orientation Trip! Like backpacking? Getting people excited about the outdoors and about Stanford? Then train to lead a SPOT wilderness trip! Stanford Pre-Orientation Trips (SPOT) is a new Stanford program that runs five-day backpacking trips for incoming students (freshmen and transfers) the week before on-campus orientation. The trips are led by teams of current Stanford students (undergraduate or graduate), recent alumni, or others affiliated with the university. It's tons of fun, a great chance to develop outdoor leadership skills, and really helps new students adjust to life on campus. WILDERNESS FIRST RESPONDER CLASS (WFR) - For the first time, we will be holding an intense Course that covers:long term patient care, wound management, fractures, dislocations, and administering medications. You will complete this course with the tools and confidence to manage patients in the backcountry for multiple days. - Date: ten day course between March 25 through April 3 (Spring Break) - Costs: $398 per person, with subsidies available for student outdoor leaders at Stanford.
