These mountains are in the Little Lakes Valley in the John Muir Wilderness. It looks like a sweet loop coming in through Dade Lake and and out Ruby Lake (up SW Chute of Abbott, down North Couloir), camping in the basin above Lake Italy. This is an intermediate mountaineering outing in the sense that there will be steeper snow (crampons and ice axe req), the pace will be fast, and there is some 4th class scrambling if you want to summit Bear Creek Spire. If you are interested, let me know at pantilat AT stanford.edu. Also, please indicate whether you have a car, gear, etc. The drive will likely be made via Sonora Pass either Friday early afternoon (around 2 pm) or Saturday very early morning (4 am), returning Sunday evening.
