As usual this time of year, it's "weather permitting", so if the weather forecast is poor, we may have to redirect to a Pinnacles day trip. I do not have any campsites reserved. People driving up on Friday night can sleep at a nice free spot just outside the park, and on Saturday night we can cook at the Church Bowl and then drive outside the park to camp. There are other non-reserved camping options; for the Anchors II class in November, we noticed there was a list of available spots in campsites at Camp 4, so we we used those. Some folks may pair up for lead/multipitch climbing; we will also set up topropes, so you don't have to have much experience to join in. If you haven't filled in the SAC survey, please do so, since it is helpful to have the info for organizing this and future trips: http://alpineclub.stanford.edu/survey.htm (copy the text to an email, fill in answers, and email it to me). Here are the additional questions for this trip: 1. If you have a car, how many people (with their gear) does it fit (including driver)? 2. Do you prefer to leave Friday night 7:30pm or so) or Saturday morning (5am or so)? If you prefer to climb just one day, that is also possible, although it's a 4 hour drive each way. 3. Do you have a National Parks Pass? (helpful for organizing carpools) 4. Do you have a climbing partner for this trip? If so, who? 5. What climbs would you like to lead or follow (if you're familiar with Yosemite)? To avoid excessive group emails, I will put the trip roster and logistics on the SAC calendar page: http://alpineclub.stanford.edu/info/calendar.html There are already a couple of people on the roster! There will be more informal trips this quarter (hopefully at least one a month), so if you can't make this one, there will be more chances. Of course, if it's sunny and you can make it, why wait? :-) Sincerely, Clint
