| The Stanford chapter of the AIAA
is in Region VI. The 2000 Region VI Student Conference is sponsored
by the San Diego Section and will be April 7-9, 2000 at San Diego State
University.
At the meetings, student members from different branches
within each conference region come together to present their technical
research and compete for cash prizes in the two categories, undergraduate
and masters. The research presented may be on any topic and the only restrictions
require that the students are either undergraduate or masters (not
PhD) candidates, there are no more than 2 authors per paper, and papers
can not be the same or part of any group project with 3 or more students,
or have been previously accepted for publication or presented at another
conference.
The first place winners for both the undergraduate and
masters categories from each region travel to the AIAA National Student
Paper Conference, held in conjunction with the Aerospace Sciences Meeting
and Exhibit in Reno, NV, one of AIAA's many professional conferences. AIAA
pays for the airfare and hotel accommodations for the winners to this national
conference where they compete for cash prizes in each category.
In addition to the paper competition, there are also guest
speakers and trip to various companies in the area.
More information will be posted here as soon as it is
available.
