Mikk Titma, Senior Research Scholar in the Department of Sociology. Titma comes to Stanford from the Institute of Sociology at the Academy of Science in Moscow and from the Estonian Academy of Sciences. His broad-ranging background in studies within the former Soviet Union has provided made him an ideal collaborator for Tuma's research across national and cultural boundaries in eastern Europe.
The collaborative work of Tuma and Titma brings to the Center two major strengths: a cross-cultural set of analyses that will highlight similarities and differences in the impact of various processes during adolescence, and a major set of longitudinal data that follows individuals from adolescence to the early formative years of adult participation.
