Department of Career Development
Vice-presidents: James Jian Li 李健, Jing Xiong 熊婧
Objectives: organize career related events, including but not limited to seminars, talks, job fairs and workshops; compile a database of Stanford Chinese alumni in Bay Area industry.
James Jian Li 李健
James Jian Li is a doctoral student in the biochemistry department, school of medicine. He joined ACSSS at the beginning of his study at Stanford and had worked in department of public relation. In this term as VP for Career Development, James plans to further broaden the industry connections of ACSSS, encourage and facilitate communications between Stanford and industry, and help ACSSS members build up a solid professional network.
Originally from Anhui, China, James becomes interested in exploring the career options in both China and US early on, and is familiar with a variety of industry in the bay area. In addition to his role in ACSSS, James has diverse academic and professional interests, and has been involved in various academic and social organizations that involve in biomedical research, public policy, finance and entrepreneurship. Prior to his study at Stanford, James was an undergraduate student at Yale University (YC ‘12) where he obtained his B.S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, and Economics.
Jing Xiong 熊婧
Jing is a PhD student in electrical engineering. She studied the same subject at University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and graduated with honor in 2012. Outside of ACSSS, Jing is also a member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu. She enjoys traveling, watching lots of TVB series like Forensic Heroes and Detective Investigation Files. She loves dogs, and volunteers whenever she can. She is also a certified basketball referee.
