YOUTH SERVICE CALIFORNIA (415) 723-3803

Youth CAN
The Youth California Action Network (YouthCAN) seeks to provide the means by which youth of California can empower themselves to make a difference in their communities, their regions, and their world. We strive to motivate all young people in service, to help them develop the skills necessary to become service leaders in their communities, and to articulate the positive voice of youth in service throughout the state.
YouthCAN activities and Member Responsibilities
YouthCAN members provide training and assistance to local youth service participants throughout YouthCAN Speakers Bureau, engage in statewide service projects together, partner with service professionals as youth voice representatives, and connect other young people in service to networks at the regional level. YouthCAN members work together to set the specific agenda for each year. Their responsibilities reflect the following expectations:
-Participating in 3 weekend YouthCAN trainings/retreats
-Participate in two regional day meetings
-Attending Regional Network meetings with local service programs
-Participating in local service events such as National Youth Service Day, regional conferences, community cleanups, media events, etc.
-Attending the annual state Service and Volunteerism Conference
-Meeting cool people committed to service and having fun!
