Sat Nov. 15:
Stanford TKD team and club members traveled to UCLA to compete at the PacWest Collegiates. We took five divisions while the rest of our Stanford athletes did spectacularly. John Do and Tommy Lee both had their college debut match and gave the rest of the league a preview of what’s to come; they were impressed.
Among the competitors: Willie Phan delivered two outstanding 7-0 victories to secure her division. John Duhart, Anh-Viet Tran, Alex Aylward, and Tommy Lee won their’s as well. Other Stanford fighters that did very well include: Yong Tan, Alex Tan, Dhackson Muthulingam, Caithlin Madigan, Maria Spletter, Jenssy Rojina, Rhean Westerlund, Leo Kim, Jeffrey Tran, Sandeep Das, Solomon Lee, and Janet Rojina!
Most importantly: the success of Stanford TKD would surely be impossible without the sacrifice and support of Coaches Ghormley, Kitagawa, and Soriano. Finally, a big thank you to Filip Paun and Paul Twohey for their continual support of the program and their amazing ability to drive for 13+ hours in less than 48 hours!

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to share some photos and thoughts from Sunday’s Luncheon. It was the first that we’ve ever thrown and it was definitely a good experience. If you weren’t able to attend, we had an exciting demonstration (thrown together in two days!), followed by lunch, and by a kicking workshop for everyone that came by to check out Stanford TKD. You can view the entire Luncheon Photo Album HERE.
I want to also thank everyone that participated including our guests. If you attended and you enjoyed it please feel free to come to the beginner’s class on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at the Ford Center across from Arrillaga. If you missed Monday’s class don’t worry we will be accepting recruits for the next following two weeks.
If you weren’t able to come, the beginner’s class is open to everyone, so please check it out!
Thank you,
Anh-Viet Tran
Stanford TKD President
