Two of our instructors have achieved the highest rank awarded in our style of karate, 5th degree black belt. Manfred Chiu (on the right) teaches the Thursday practices, and Jim Sagawa (on the left), former president of the national organization, teaches the advanced practice on Sundays for brown and black belts. Between the two of them, they have over 75 years of experience training under Oshima Sensei. Additionally, we have Danny Afar (in the left picture below), a fourth degree black belt who teaches the Tuesday practices. Olof (on the right) is a second degree black belt. Some of the remaining black belts are shown in the picture below.
