2008 AMGEN Tour of California Comes to Palo Alto and Stanford University on February 17

America's most successful cycling race, the Amgen Tour of California, is an eight-day "rolling festival" through California like the Tour de France that has already become one of the nation's largest sporting events. This international, world-class road race features the globe's best cyclists.

This first stage of the race, known as the Prologue, is a time trial and will begin in Downtown Palo Alto and end on the campus of Stanford University on February 17, 2008. The local portion of the eight-day race, the Palo Alto-Stanford University Prologue, is being hosted by City of Palo Alto, Stanford University and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the race.

Route of Race: The race begins at City Hall (250 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94301), goes east on Hamilton Avenue to Cowper Street, turns left at Cowper Street and then left onto University Avenue to ride the length of University Avenue and Palm Drive. The race will finish at Museum Way after an amazing 360 degree loop around the Oval.
