She is particularly interested in American politics and is currently writing an honors thesis on firefighters unions. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Elise likes spending time at the beach, hiking, and baking. On campus, she can be found wherever coffee is sold.

Flora is a senior majoring in International Relations and is currently studying women’s rights and East Asian security through the Center for International Security and Cooperation Honors program. She has been involved with Stanford in Government since sophomore year, and has also worked as a Stanford in Government Fellow in China. She has lived in England, Taiwan and San Diego. When not obsessing over Coupa’s Tiger Spice Chai Tea Lattes, she enjoys creative writing, discussing politics and reading mysteries. |

Kyle, a junior from half an hour down El Camino in Sunnyvale, California, is majoring in public policy with a concentration in education policy, and hopes to help reform the quality and equality of education. This is his third year in the Fellowships branch of SIG, and he worked for the education reform organization StudentsFirst this summer on a SIG fellowship. Besides working with SiG, you can catch him walking backwards around campus as a tour guide or teaching debate and piano to kids in Redwood City. |

Jacob is a senior studying Classics and Philosophy. Drawing inspiration from time he spent studying in the hills of east Jerusalem and excavating at an archaeological site outside of Rome, he is writing a thesis about heritage property rights through the Ethics in Society Program. He likes to play guitar and write. |

In addition to his work with SIG, Stefan serves as an executive officer for SOOP, an organization that takes at-risk youth from East Palo Alto on hiking and backpacking trips. Stefan spent this summer working in Ghana with the Department of Social Welfare on a SIG Stipend. |
