SLSQ Chamber Music Seminar at Stanford

The Chamber Music Seminar at Stanford is a 10-day intensive seminar for advanced students (over 18 years of age) and adult amateurs with the Grammy-nominated St. Lawrence String Quartet and their special guest faculty. During the seminar, a series of noontime concerts in Bing Concert Hall, a film series in Campbell Recital Hall, and other events will be presented, all free and open to the public. Stanford Summer Chorus for 2013

The Stanford Summer Chorus is a non-auditioned community chorus sponsored by the Stanford Department of Music. Membership is open to everyone, from all corners of the Bay Area, and from all age groups and ability levels. The Summer Chorus rehearses on Tuesday nights in Campbell Recital Hall at Braun Music Center on the Stanford campus, starting on June 25th. This year, the Summer Chorus is directed by Rafael Ornes and will be presenting “Summer of Love,” a program of music which focuses on the many facets of love, featuring The World Beloved – A Bluegrass Mass by Carol Barnett, Wedding Cantata by Daniel Pinkham, and other selections. The Summer Chorus' annual concert will take place on Friday, August 9th at 8 p.m. in Bing Concert Hall. | Find out more about Stanford Summer Chorus here. (Updated 5/21/2013)

Summer Stanford Symphony Orchestra: Audition signups are open

The Summer Stanford Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Anna Wittstruck. The Summer Orchestra rehearses over a two-week period during July and will present its annual concert on Saturday, July 20th, performing in Bing Concert Hall for the first time. Auditions for the Summer Orchestra are open to all members of the Stanford community. Although Stanford students are given priority, the Summer Orchestra also welcomes musicians from the local and non-Stanford community. Auditions will be held on Monday, July 1st and Tuesday, July 2nd in Braun Music Center. Sign up for an audition here. Summer Session

The Department of Music offers an eight-week summer session with classes in Piano and Voice starting the week of June 24th. Summer session information can be found here. Registration for summer session classes is open through Thursday, June 7th at 4 p.m. (Updated 3/19/2013)
