Specialty:
Hi, I'm a 23 year old 5th year medical student from Melbourne Australia. I love nearly every sport you can name, and I have a shocking case of wunderlust. I have been to Europe for a very short time, and have spent time in Indonesia and central Australia. Hopefully I will soon be able to add to that list (firstly with New Zealand). I play volleyball and like acid jazz.

Research/Medical Interests:

I have interests in third world health, with a particular emphasis on Australian Aboriginal People. I did a 6 week elective in an aboriginal community called Utopia. It was a sensational experience. I recommend it to any medical students out there. It is the first step in begining to solve the problem - ie understand what the problem is. I don't pretend to know what that is yet, but I've made a start. I'm also interested in peer education. I've been involved in a program where 3rd year medical students return to their high schools to teach the year 8,9 and 10s about safe sex. It has worked really well so far, but the program is floundering without support. If there are other programs out there with similar goals or methods who have experience in this area, I would love to hear from them. I have a desire to live in the rural parts of Australia when I finally graduate and I would like to be an Astronaut when I grow up.
