- Q Investments, a $5 billion investment firm based in Fort Worth, is looking for some Stanford students to hire after graduation (see descriptions below). This is ideal for those of y'all who want to return to Texas to work. This mainly pertains to seniors right now, but it's a great long-term resource to keep in mind for you sophomores and juniors, too.
- Charitable Foundation Representative
We are looking for a bright, energetic, detail oriented person interested in a career track in foundations, non-profits, fundraising and community relations. You must demonstrate a record of accomplishment via previous employment, internships and with your coursework. We are looking for someone with exemplary writing and communication skills.
This foundation supports a wide range of community-minded organizations that provide services to the arts and humanities, community affairs, health and medicine, human services and education to the Fort Worth community. The foundation supports over 50 community-minded organizations annually.
You will assist the foundation president and board with writing grant proposals and other correspondence, conduct market research for charitable activities, and represent the foundation at community events. You will establish a formidable network within the local community and must be comfortable interacting with high profile individuals in both professional and social settings.
- Strategic Planning - Accounting
This person's responsibilities will include participating in major decision making processes that affect the companies accounting flow process as well as future policies and procedures for these guidelines. This individual will gain a significant understanding and knowledge of hedge fund structure and all accounting based issues and procedures that revolve around private investment. The individual will be responsible for analyzing information, creating guidelines and executing procedures for multiple entities within our company's capital structure.
- Business Affairs
This position is unique and will expose the individual to all groups within a hedge fund. This person's responsibilities will include participating from a businessperson's perspective in the development of, and the drafting, reviewing, negotiation and analysis of agreements that give effect to cutting edge securities, financing and derivative transactions, distressed
bank debt transactions and the firm's private investment transactions. This individual will gain significant knowledge of swaps, bank debt trading, hedge fund structure and entity issues, repos and prime broker relationships, just to name a few. The individual will be responsible for analyzing information gathered from all groups within the company (trading desk, analyst groups, back-office, accounting, legal, etc.) in structuring the company's transactions in an effort to maximize the benefit to the company while minimizing overall risk.
NOTE: This is a high priority position and the firm will begin interviewing immediately.
- CRITERIA FOR POSITIONS:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated a record of accomplishment and achievement with an outstanding academic record. Below are our criteria:
- a. 3.50 GPA or higher
- b. A successful record of Internships and/or Personal Achievements/Awards
