Dear W. T. :

Thanks for your very kind letter. I am sorry you beat me to the point of writing, for I have been planning to write you for several weeks to congratulate you for building a church. I saw a picture of the edifice in the Courier, and it appears to be quite elaborate. You are to be commended for building at such an early age. The Methodist Church will be deeply indebted to you for many years to come. Although I have never built a church, I do know something of the strain that a minister goes through in such an undertaking.

I know you did a most acceptable job at Southern. I wish I could have been there to hear you. It is quite coincidental that we came so close together.

Please make it your business to stop in Montgomery on your way to Gammon next March. It would be a wonderful experience to have you and Ruth visit us for a few days. Be sure to put this on your agender.

Corretta and I are doing very well. We are expecting a baby within a matter of days now, and we are going through the normal excitement of such anticipation. Give my best regards to Ruth. Continue in making the excellent contribution that you have already made to the christian ministry.
