Volume II: Rediscovering Precious Values,
|
To Joseph C. Parker, Sr.15 May 1954 Reverend J. C. Parker Dear Parker, I think I mentioned to you that we were planning to ordain a group of deacons at Dexter. Well, I have decided to go through with it. I would like very much to have you preach the ordination sermon. It will be held at the church on the fifth Sunday, May 30, at 3:30 p.m. I would appreciate it if you would let me know immediately whether or not you can serve us on this occasion, so that I can proceed to plan the program. I certainly hope you can come. I hope everything goes well with you and your family. We are doing quite well and stydying hard as usual. As I remember, you were in the midst of your revival when I left. I am sure it went over in a big way. I will look forward to hearing from you immediately. Sincerely yours, TLc.
