This document is a collection of the experience and wisdom aquired through the years by the teaching assistants of the faculty of engineering at Cairo university on the process of american and canadian universities admission requirements. Its aim is to present, in detail, the steps that should be followed in order to get admitted to a PhD program in the USA or Canada after finishing the MSc degree in Cairo. The european universities are not discussed since there is not enough information available for the time being. If anyone can provide such info it will be greatly welcomed.
In order to fulfill its goal this document is divided into two main sections. First the admission process with a number of subsections describing the different preparations, documents and exams that should be taken. Next to that, another section with several tips and detailed description of the bureaucracy you will have to go through to get your MSc degree is presented.
