The Stanford Quiz Bowl Club runs tournaments for local
high school students. In 2003-2004, we ran our annual Cardinal Junior
Classic and the Jane Stanford
Memorial Tournament.
In 2005, we will run another Cardinal Junior Classic and the NAQT Northern
California Championship.
We also work with the quiz bowl teams at local public
schools. In 2003-2004, Eric Smith helped coach the team at Menlo-Atherton
High School. He also worked on starting a team at Hillview Middle School. The
kids are great, and some of them seem to really like quiz bowl.
We believe that it is important to recognize success in activites other
than sports.
In 2004-2005, we'd like to do more with quiz bowl in local schools, and we
need Stanford students to help out. Email Eric if you're interested in helping.
