Effectively utilized, technology has a significant potential to strengthen history-social science instruction. Technology provides students with extraordinary access to relevant research and data bases. In addition, when used interactively, it has the capacity to bring real people -- international and cross-cultural resource people and academic specialists -- into students' lives, greatly expanding the walls of the classroom. Participating CWHP teachers will make active use of technology (email, Internet, bulletin boards, etc.) to engage fellow teachers, academic specialists, and project staff in conducting the project and to integrate technology into the fabric of their instructional program.
