Country Perspective
An important part of understanding world history
is an ability to see and appreciate events or time periods in context --
to appreciate the historical, geographic, economic, political and cultural
circumstances that shaped the events or time periods and that may, in the
contemporary era, continue to influence them. It is helpful to understand
this context through the eyes and experiences of the people who experience
them directly. Toward this end, CWHP seeks to develop teachers' capacities
to view world history and contemporary issues, in part, from the perspectives
of the people and the governments of individual nations in the international
system.
