World History Academic Knowledge and Understanding

A high priority is given to strengthening teachers' academic knowledge and understanding regarding the topics that are given priority in the state-approved content standards for "World History, Culture, and Geography:  The Modern World," the World History course required of Grade 9 or 10 students in California high schools.  As background knowledge is deepened, teaching will be enhanced, and students can be expected to demonstrate increased academic achievement.  CWHP seeks to deepen academic content knowledge through a comprehensive, multi-year program of direct and on-line experiences with resource materials and content specialists.
