The CCB is co-hosting a 2-week training course for conservation professionals, "Economic Tools for Conservation," August 11-22, 2008 at Stanford. Participants will learn to use economics to be more strategic and successful in their conservation work. Participants will study natural resource and environmental economics, practice communication and negotiation techniques, and get hands-on experience with cost-benefit analysis. This course is presented in partnership with the Conservation Strategy Fund and The Nature Conservancy.

Paul Ehrlich and Carol Boggs, along with colleagues in history, law, GES,and the Carnegie Global Ecology Institute received a grant from the Woods Institute for the Environment to assess the feasibility of re-introducing the Bay checkerspot butterfly to Stanford lands.
