Elena M. Becks

Program Administrator

Elena Becks is the Program Administrator for the Committee on Black Performing Arts and Executive Editor of the Black Arts Quarterly. She has been with the program since 1987. A native of East Palo Alto she has been a political activist for 30 years. She was Chair of Peninsulans for Rainbow Coalition from 1984 until 1991 and Co-Chair of the California Democratic Party Rainbow Caucus. Elena Becks was an Associate Director and key coordinator for the East Palo Alto Project (EPAP) conducting interviews for "Dreams of a City:.." video and the EPAP Archives and facilitating the EPAP Task Force and volunteer coordination for the project.
