Peanut
(formerly Tora)

ADOPTED 11/30/2001

Peanut was adopted by Mark and Katie, and she will be a friend to Snoopy, the grey and white kitten adopted from SCN earlier this year! Katie reports "Well . . . Little Peanut has settled in just fine. She and Snoopy are getting along great -- lots of playing, wrestling, etc. In fact, Peanut has become Snoopy's shadow, following her around and getting upset if she looses track of where Snoopy is. It's VERY cute!"

Pierre

ADOPTED 11/21/2001

Pierre won Garrett's heart when he came in to see another cat. Garrett says "Just wanted to let you know my first night with Pierre couldn't have been any better. He is totally cool, and very relaxed and comfortable. When he first got here he did a little checking out, but then popped right up on the sofa with me for some lovin. He'd jump down from time to time and do a little wandering but really he just wanted to sit by me and take it all in from the view of the couch. We watched TV together and he fell asleep in my lap, and slept through the night with me in my bed."

Anais

ADOPTED 11/16/2001

Anais joined Lynn's family, where she will be loved by 4 children! They report "She spends most of her time in the cat-house, which I think makes her feel secure because it's several feet off the floor and enclosed except for the entrance. From there she can watch birds and squirrels through the window."

Georgie

ADOPTED 11/15/2001

Georgie will be the spoiled only boy of Julie and Jason, who cancelled their vacation so they could take Georgie home early! Julie says "George is so funny! He just LOVES the little mouse toy- and he was so eager to explore the rest of the condo- he is snooping around right now. He is just running around like a crazy little boy!"

Sabrina

ADOPTED 11/12/2001

Sabrina was adopted by Colleen and family, and is making friends with LeMew the other kitty. The family reports Sabrina is "Very loving and very playful".

Sarin

ADOPTED 11/10/2001

Sarin went home with Patricia! Pat reports "Just wanted to let you know that she is already acting like the front room in my apt is her kingdom, which is a HUGE improvement from yesterday... And she LOVES her tree/house! And she is eating and playing and meowing like mad whenever I leave the room."

Einstein
(formerly Obsidian)

ADOPTED 10/19/2001

Christine adopted Einstein - or rather, he adopted her! He plunked down on her lap and began to purr, and it wasd love at first sight. Christine says she re-named him Einstein because "He's so smart. He is adjusting well to his new surroundings and really making himself at home. He likes to be held like a baby. He sits in the recliner with me on his back and his hind legs straight up and his head on my arm. He likes to drink water out of the sink rather than the fresh water in his water dish. He likes to look out the window and when a dog comes by he makes a mad dash to the bedroom and hides under my bed. Two days ago he discovered that he can sleep on my bed with me."

Piper (background)
(formerly Chevi)

ADOPTED 10/24/2001

Matthew and Kelley adopted Piper along with another kitten. They report "Piper and his new friend are doing great. They seem to be getting along very well. I worked from home this morning and when I left, they were cuddled together for a mid-day nap."

Philip

Robert

ADOPTED TOGETHER 10/16/2001

Philip and Robert went home with Shannon and Chris! They have their very own enclosed outdoor run, and lots of love of course. Shannon says "They are both love bugs and have to be near us or on us...they follow me everywhere. At nap time, Philip is a real baby and has to be loved and snuggled until he settles down...Robert on the other hand will roll over and expose his tummy to anyone who will pet him, he purrs at everything and everyone and is bold and adventurous. We love them both to pieces..."

Iggy
(formerly Meja)

ADOPTED 10/11/2001

Iggy was adopted by Bianka and Scott.

Philip

ADOPTED 10/10/2001

Philip will be a campanion at a rest home, entertaining and soaking up the attention!

Serafina and Lyra
(formerly Artemis and Persephone)

ADOPTED TOGETHER 09/22/2001

Serafina and Lyra will be new friends for Murphy the bunny and his human family! They say "The kittens seem very content. Andrew named the black one Lyra, after an impetuous and wonderful character in "The Golden Compass", one of his favourite books. The grey kitten is called Serafina, after another character who is more of a deliberate thinker, because Serafina is the one who hangs back until she can make that one, perfect pounce. Both have discovered they love to be stroked and petted, particularly Serafina. She seemed much more shy and terrified and I wondered whether we would establish a good bond with her. Now she stretches out on Andrew's bottom bunk to sleep during the day and purrs loudly if you rub her head or tickle her neck."

Nutmeg

ADOPTED 09/20/2001

Nutmeg was adopted by Pamela and her husband, and they say "Nutmeg is great! What a sweetie! He was a little shy at first, but then settled in well, played and slept all night in our bed (well, didn't always sleep, but you know what I mean)."

Helios
(formery Thar)

ADOPTED 09/14/2001

Helios was adopted by Lori and Chris, who say "Helios seems to be getting along well in his new digs. He still spends a little too much time under the bed than we like but he comes out readily enough when we ask him. He is a bundle of energy at night - bounding all over the place. We decided to drug up the kitties on catnip tonight and they had a fun time hanging out on our kitty tree."

George

ADOPTED 09/12/2001

George is a career cat now - he was adopted by Guide Dogs for the Blind. The director of puppy socialization needed a good-natured cat to live on the Guide Dog campus, so the guide dog puppies in training can be introduced to a cat and taught how to behave appropriately. Kelli sent these photos of George "on the job".

Kelli reports May 2002: "George is doing great and we are so pleased with him! He never ceases to amaze us with his calm and sweet demeanor. In fact, I am planning a week long birthday celebration in his honor in June, and he has just received his first gift this morning-a new screen door so he can watch the puppies play outside. A volunteer who has taken a special liking to him donated it and had it installed."
