Pancho
Villa
(formerly
Raffles) |
ADOPTED
02/23/2002
Pancho
Villa , Drew's brother, has a mischievous look with the black
patch over his eye. This cute little rogue was adopted by
Ginger and Rick. They report "Just wanted to let you
know that Raffles - we might call him Pancho Villa but we
have to see if he agrees first - is doing fine. He cried a
couple of times on the way home. We put him in our bedroom
with food, water and a litter box, but I don't think he ate
anything yet. He purred in the carrier and let me pick him
up and carry him around the room and sat in my lap.
We
have one of those padded fleece lined "cubes" that's about
18" on each side with holes in two of them and one of those
fleece lined beds. He agreed to leave my lap and move to the
bed, so we left him safely in the room by himself. We arrived
home a few hours later to find that he has made the cube into
his home - we put one hole side up against a surface so that
there is only one "exposure" side. He feels quite safe there
but does let me get him, quite gently, for cuddling. I took
him on a walking tour of the house but he's not yet ready
to explore or leave my arms/lap. We moved the cube to the
living room so he can be near us and hear the TV and house
noises but still feel like he has his private and safe place,
so he naps and then watches us sitting on the couch and we
talk to him a lot."

Drew
|
ADOPTED
02/20/2002
Drew
didn't have to wait long to find his new mom Alexis, everyone
wanted to take this loving boy home! Alexis says "Friday
night Drew watched me for hours! He ate, we played, and he
likes walking between the window and the blinds, going all
the way down, emerging, and going back to the beginning! It
is cute and funny." |

Lancelot
|
ADOPTED
02/04/2002
Lancelot
was adopted by Cara and her daughters Chapin and Tomasine.
There will be plenty of love to go around for this lucky kitty!
They report "He really likes to lie wrapped around the
back of the toilet. Pretty funny to see him back there with
water dripping onto him from the sweating toilet curled on
a towel but he is playing with us and seems to be ready to
explore! We will let you know further adventures of our new
kitty! (I'm sure there will be plenty)." |

Molly
(formerly
Jemima) |
ADOPTED
01/25/2002
Molly
was adopted by Doris and Jack, or did she adopt them? Molly
only took about 5 minutes to find this cozy nest in her new
home. During her stay at the vet clinic, Molly only purred
silently, but Doris says "About 5 minutes after you left
she turned on the purr machine and started kneading the fleece
lining of the bed. She has quite a loud purr after all! (I
guess she was waiting for a comfy bed!)"

Mink
|
ADOPTED
01/25/2002
Mink
was adopted by Vera. She reports "Just wanted you to
know how well Mink is doing. (I want to give her a new name,
but I and my friends can't seem to think of one that captures
her sweetness as well as her mischievous side.) She is eating
quite well and really gaining in confidence, hiding a lot
less and spending more time enjoying the open spaces of her
new home. Best of all, she now seeks me out for attention
and playtime, instead of me having to coax her to come and
play! She is also good at amusing herself, playing with her
toys or nosing about. She even jumps up on the bed and keeps
me company, although she still doesn't stay very long. It's
not just shyness, however: some of it is simply the humorously
short attention span of a young cat!
She
is incredibly loving and affectionate, and she can't resist
human company. Once she gets over her initial shyness, moreover,
she is quite social with new people as well. My friends love
her! What a playful, gentle, sweet soul. I'm so fortunate
to have brought her into my life. Thank you!" |

Thomasina
|
ADOPTED
01/25/2002
"Dear
Stanford Cat Network, Thank you so much for helping me fly
all the way to Phoenix, AZ, to be with my new big family.
The family consists of mommy and daddy, two female cat-sisters
and a lovely house dog, Data, whom I fell in love with. I
now have many toys (as you can see in the pictures) and get
attention from all my family members. My new cat-sister Angel
and I cuddle and play together, and I am trying my darndest
to get Data to play with me, so I strut around showing him
how pretty I look. He is so insensitive though. I will keep
trying! My mommy and daddy give me treats and cuddles and
they love me a lot."

Umber
and Cinnabar |
ADOPTED
TOGETHER 12/14/2001
Umber
and Cinnabar were happily adopted by Sue! She says "The
boys had a great weekend! They are both getting all settled
in and they are doing the hiding thing under the bed (which
is very understandable)! Cinnabar came out and rubbed on me
quite a bit. Umber loosened up quite a bit when he saw how
many kitty toys he has to play with (and he discovered the
"wonders of catnip") ! He got very silly and was chasing balls
all around the room! I have this toy also that is battery
operated that is a ball with a possum hanging from it ~ they
went absolutely nuts as the toy continued to roll around the
room~ They really thought it was an animal and were biting
it and kicking it around~ Too funny!" |
Phoenix and Faith
(formerly Mimi and Momo) |
ADOPTED
TOGETHER 12/14/2001
Phoenix
and Faith were adopted by Christine and Kirby! They say "The
little ones are doing great! Every day they get a little less
shy. They still aren't quite willing to let us hold them,
but we play with them a lot, they sleep on our bed with us,
and they'll let us pet them when they are in the mood. We're
having a great time!"

Jellybean
|
ADOPTED
12/12/2001
On
our very first visit we played and loved each other for over
an hour and when I left I was told that Jellybean jumped into
the window sill and was following me from window to window
until I fell out of her sight. They couldn't believe our instant
love for each other. Dagmar is very happy that someone will
love and take care of Jellybean and was especially happy to
hear that my mother (Jellybean's new grandma) has made her
a afghan already and between us Jellybean will have over 6
presents under our tree this year. Thank you and the Stanford
Cat Program for hooking us up together. |

Daisy
(formerly Jewel) |
ADOPTED
12/01/2001
Daisy
captured the heart of Leticia, and she will join a family
of black and white creatures, from the border collie to the
other cats all the pets are black and white, but just by chance...
and she will have access to a cat-proof backyard (Cat
Fence-In).
Leticia
says "We lucked out with little Daisy. She is probably
the most instantly loveable little cat I've ever had. We've
really bonded like no other. She follows me around the house,
but what's really sweet is that she recognizes either the
sound of my car - or maybe the garage door opening - when
I get home. She runs down the stairs to greet me. Her other
favorite thing is to crawl under the covers when I go bed
- she'll sleep for a while, then runs off - like clockwork
every night. Just love this little cat to pieces!!!" |
