ASB Course and Trip Application

The Alternative Spring Break program exposes students to complex social and cultural issues through direct service, experiential learning, group discussion, and personal reflection. The vision is to transform students into advocates of social change on issues affecting our communities. As a leader, you will be responsible for developing a Group Directed Reading for the winter quarter and coordinating all aspects of the spring break trip.

Applications due Monday, May 4 at 5:00pm to Haas Center BIRC Room.

Mini Grant Application

While nearly 200 students have the opportunity of a lifetime to learn from ASB trips, there are many more students on campus that could learn from participants’ experiences. This grant is intended to help program participants bring knowledge of their trips’ issues and their experiences back to Stanford campus.

Applications were due Friday, April 17th at 5 PM by emailing them to ckhavarian@stanford.edu

ASB Coordinator Application

A team of 2-4 ASB Coordinators works closely with the 25-30 program leaders and the Hass Center staff advisor to help plan and facilitate various aspects of the ASB program. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to play a vital role in a nationally recognized community service/service-learning program that has inspired Stanford students for over 20 years.
