2005 Alumni Professors of Manufacturing China Study Trip

In August of 2005, approximately 16 Alumni Professors of Manufacturing embarked on a 10-day trip to visit manufacturing facilities in China. During the trip, they visited:

  • Nokia (Beijing)
  • Visteon Electronics (Shanghai)
  • Baosteel (Shanghai)
  • Lenovo (Shanghai)
  • ToyBiz (Dongguan)
  • MSI, Inc. (Shenzhen)

The challenge for the participants now is to use the experiences in China in their own teaching and research. Over time, as this material begins to coalesce, AIM will provide links or other information to this material developed by the APMs.

Keith Rollag, from Babson College, wrote an excellent article on his experiences, Just the Same but Five Times as Fast.
