This research is a joint effort between researchers at the Center for Integrated Facility Engineering (CIFE) and the Interactive Workspaces Group in Computer Science department at Stanford University. The project explores how Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) multi-disciplinary project teams can use an Interactive Workspace environment to support group tasks, such as project review, project planning, and decision-making. The project titled "CIFE Integration Workspace" focuses on the issues related to large-scale workspace environment, such as the Stanford Interactive Workspace room and the Interactive Mural, and the project titled "4D Annotator" focuses on the desktop workspace environment.

The objectives of this research are to define and evaluate new ways for project teams to interact with and visualize project information. In past years, our efforts in this area have focused on the desktop and the 4D environment. The focus in this research is to expand the 4D vizualization techniques to a broader visualization of a variety of types of project information.
