History
The VRC was founded in 1963 as a slide library. The VRC (which once stood for Visual Resources Collection, rather than the Visual Resources Center) was once part of the Stanford University Art and Art History Department. While this is still the primary focus of the collection, the VRC was transferred to Stanford University Libraries in September 2006. Previous page: Visual Resources Center
