Judicial Panel

Judicial procedures begin when a Stanford faculty member, student or staff member files a formal concern of an alleged violation of the Honor Code, Fundamental Standard or Student Conduct Policy with the Judicial Officer.

Final Appeals Panel Hearings

A Final Appeals Panel is convened whenever a student found responsible for a violation files an appeal.

Evidentiary Hearings

When the Judicial Officer chooses not to file a formal charge against a student, the reporting party has the right to request an Evidentiary Hearing to determine if the case should be sent to a Judicial Panel Hearing.

Reinstatement Panel

If a Judicial Panel issues a Conditional Suspension, then the student’s petition for reinstatement will be heard by a Judicial Panel.

Petitions for reinstatement must be submitted to the Office of Judicial Affairs no later than the end of the first week of classes of the quarter prior to the student’s proposed return.  Questions regarding the criteria established by the original Judicial Panel should be directed to the Judicial Advisor.
