Documentation

In this section you'll find access to a wide range of documentation that will guide you through tasks such as setting up printers, adding passwords to your web site, and so on.

CourseWork

This section is exclusively devoted to documentation about and problems using CourseWork, Stanford's web-based course management application.

Web Resources

Google Reader

Many sites these days offer you the ability to keep track of all new articles that get posted by offering "RSS feeds." These will often be summaries or snippets of full articles and have links to easily view the entire article.

Google Reader is an RSS feed aggregator. You can tell it whatever sites that you visit frequently and it will see if it has an RSS feed. If it does, you can subscribe to it and Google Reader will keep track of all new articles that occur on the site. Whenever you log in, you'll see a list of all the articles that you haven't read, and you can easily mark items that you want to read later. You'll need a Google log-in, which doesn't even necessarily require a GMail account anymore.

Lifehacker.com

A useful site describing various tips, tricks, and shortcuts to help you in your life. It addresses just about everything: technology, cooking, work, keeping organized...you name it. Great for your RSS feed.

Commoncraft.com

The Common Craft Show has a lot of great web videos that explain things, expecially techie things, "in plain English," as they say. Topics include RSS feeds, Twitter, wikis, and online photosharing. Worth checking out!
