David Jacobson received his PhD in Classics from UC Berkeley in 2011.  His dissertation, entitled Show Business: Deixis in Fifth-Century Athenian Drama, examines how a playwright’s lexical choices shape an audience’s engagement with and investment in a dramatic work.  He has taught courses on Greek and Latin literature and language, Greek social and cultural history, mythology, and religion.  His research interests include Greek poetry and performance, gender, and mythology.  David spends most of his free exploring San Francisco’s playgrounds with his daughter.
