
Kristin’s primary interests are in aesthetics and the history of early analytic philosophy. Within aesthetics, her research centers on philosophy of literature, philosophy of the performing arts (especially dance) and philosophy of the visual arts (especially film). She is currently working on a book project, Why Wander into Fiction? Henry James and the Case Study of Henry James, as well as two articles on philosophy and dance entitled Philosophy, Dance and Modernism and Thinking the Body/The Body Thinking respectively. She received a doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Chicago, a masters in Religion from The University of Chicago’s Divinity School and a BA in mathematics and religious studies from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She divides her free time between the dance studio, the Southwest shuttle to Pittsburgh (where her partner, Dan, lives and teaches) and her pet rabbit, Felix.
