Wondering what to do NExT?
The NExT Video Series (New, Exciting, Timely) seeks to connect Stanford undergrads with the full breadth of options and opportunities available to them through The Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. Hear your fellow students share their stories and find out more about what you could be doing NExT by browsing through the videos below. New videos will be added throughout Spring Quarter 2011. Arts Intensive, a September Studies Program
Stanford students Jenny Koenig and Cesar Torres share their experience participating in Arts Intensive (AI), a September Studies program. AI offers students the opportunity to study intensively with arts faculty and small groups of Stanford students passionate about the arts. Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors are all encouraged to apply for AI.
Sophomore College, a September Studies Program
Stanford students Daniel Reynolds and Deepa Kannappan share their experience participating in Sophomore College (SoCo). SoCo offers students the opportunity to study intensively with Stanford faculty and small groups of other Stanford sophomores before the beginning of Autumn Quarter.
Undergraduate Research
Stanford students Katie Dektar, Daniel Jacobson, and Jasmine Hu share their experience participating in Undergraduate Research. Undergraduates in all disciplines may pursue research in humanities, natural sciences, engineering, arts, social sciences and interdisciplinary studies. Research can challenge and stretch you in ways that are not possible in even the most rigorous and demanding course work.
Academic Resources
Stanford students Stephanie Nicholson, Tommy Kramer and Shuqiao Song share their experience working with campus tutors. Free peer tutoring is available for all undergraduate students at Stanford looking to improve their oral communication skills or seeking advice on a writing project.
Introductory Seminars
Stanford students Hanni Hanson and Chase Richard share their experience in Introductory Seminars. The Introductory Seminars Program offers small-group courses taught by esteemed faculty to freshmen and sophomores. They are offered in a wide range of disciplines, in more than sixty departments and programs, and all seven schools of the university.
Bing Overseas Studies Program
Stanford students Aleema Jamal and Matthew Willmott share their experience studying abroad through the Bing Overseas Studies Program (BOSP). BOSP provides Stanford undergraduates with challenging and diverse academic opportunities around the globe. Students from any major and every discipline may take advantage of the extraordinary opportunities offered by BOSP.
