IHUM Enrollment and Course Change Information
IHUM Forms
Assignments to Spring IHUM will appear on students' study list before Axess opens for enrollment on February 12th, with all students continuing within the same winter-spring IHUM course sequence. Petitions will then open for students to change their discussion section at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16th, remaining open through the first week of classes. The first 'round' of petitions will be processed on Friday, March 30th at 10:00am, with results posted by noon that day. The next round will be processed on Monday, April 2nd, at 6:00am with results posted by 8:00am. Further daily rounds will be processed each morning at 6:00am (results available at 8:00am) through Friday, April 6th.
Students will be able to submit petitions to change sections within an IHUM course. Many students find that they need to change section times once they begin scheduling other classes, and we make every effort to grant petition requests.
Students take the same IHUM lecture course for both winter and spring, but not necessarily the same discussion section. So when considering scheduling conflicts, be sure that your IHUM lecture time fits for both the winter and spring quarters, but do not worry about your discussion section assignment fitting your schedule both quarters...you will be able to change sections in spring without losing your place in the overall IHUM course.
Enrolling in IHUM
Note that you cannot add or drop IHUM courses in Axess, nor should you attend an IHUM section to which you are not assigned after the course change request deadline has passed. (You can attend a section if you can't attend your currently assigned time, but you MUST resolve your IHUM section assignment before the forms close.) IHUM Central administers enrollment internally until course change request forms are closed in the second week of the quarter. Your IHUM assignment will be updated on our website as well as Axess, should your course and/or section assignment be changed.
