Approaching Stanford Forms

Before You Begin Your Forms

Read pages 1 to 18 of the Approaching Stanford handbook, which includes the sections "Welcome to Stanford University," "Stanford, Past and Present," and "Approaching Your Forms."  Freshmen must also read the Introduction to the Humanities 2011-12 Course Catalogue prior to completing Form 4.  

Important Notes

It is necessary that you, the student, complete your own Approaching Stanford forms.  You may not authorize another individual to complete them on your behalf, especially since that would require the disclosure of your SUNet ID password, which is not permitted.

Deadlines

Submit your Approaching Stanford forms by 5:00 p.m. (Stanford time) on the appropriate deadline.  Be sure to start your forms well before these deadlines to account for any unexpected problems.  It's critical that you complete your forms on time; we start reading your forms right away.

If you do not fully complete the required forms by the stated deadlines, this may impact a number of processes, including the housing assignment process, our advisor match, and our ability to have critical items like your Stanford ID card ready for you when you arrive on move-in day.

• If you neglected to complete the Student Check-In on Axess during the Approaching Stanford forms period, it is critical that you address this immediately, prior to your arrival on campus.  All incoming freshmen and transfers have a hold on their Axess record until the required items of the Student Check-In are complete, preventing you from enrolling in courses.  If you are one of the few students who has yet to complete the Student Check-In, please address this immediately; instructions for completing the Student-Check-In on Axess can be found here.
• If you have not yet submitted a photo via the Stanford ID Card Office's online photo submission system, your photo will not be included in the printed Stanford Facebook that is distributed on move-in day.  It is also likely that your Stanford ID Card will not be immediately available when you check-in on move-in day - if this is the case, you will need to go to the Student Services Center on move-in day in order to have your picture taken and ID Card printed.
