The road to college admission can be long and tricky to navigate. Students today are faced with many choices. Stanford, too, faces a complex landscape of many accomplished high school seniors and an ever-changing world. Finding the right fit – the students who can best thrive upon and contribute to the complex Stanford tapestry – is what truly sets our University apart from its peers. Today we are calling upon our wide community of alumni to help Stanford’s Office of Undergraduate Admission and its future student body come together. Indeed, to identify, admit, and yield Stanford’s future classes. Thus, we are proud to introduce Stanford’s OVAL – Outreach Volunteer Alumni Link – a new network designed to bring together the past, present and future of Stanford University. Simply put, our alumni are everywhere… including many places that our staff cannot physically be. We hope to mobilize that alumni presence in bigger, better ways to help Stanford reach schools, neighborhoods and communities from the far corners of the globe to the Farm’s own backyard. We believe that Stanford alumni are the best possible delegates to carry the Stanford banner proudly as we build the next generation. YOU are the key to the OVAL effort. Whether by attending a college fair in your community, sitting on an information panel, shaking hands with a prospective student, or talking with a parent about the decision to allow their child to go to school thousands of miles away, you can have an impact on Stanford’s future as a member of OVAL.
