At Stanford, you learn about yourself by learning about the enormous contributions all of us make to our shared cultural community.
- The Asian American Activities Center (A3C, “A-cubed C”) supports over 40 groups including the Asian American Student Association, the Asian American Theatre Project, Hapa Issues Forum, and Sanskriti. The A3C also offers resources like the Asian American Reading Room, multimedia equipment, and meeting rooms.
- The Bechtel International Center provides resources for foreign students, their families, and international visitors. Resources include the Overseas Resource Center, the Foreign Student Advisor, Foreign Scholar Services, and the Office for International Visitors.
- The Black Community Services Center (BCSC), fondly referred to as “The Black House,” provides support for approximately 30 students groups, including the Black Student Union, the Stanford African Students Association, Black and Queer at Stanford, NAACP, JAM PAC’D, and Stanford Gospel Choir.
- El Centro Chicano is home to approximately 20 Chicano/Latino organizations on campus, including MEChA, the Latin American Student Association, Ballet Folklorico de Stanford, Barrio Assistance, and Project Motivation. El Centro sponsors many events, including Dia de los Muertos, La Gran Posada, and Cinco de Mayo.
- The LGBT Community Resources Center (LGBT-CRC) houses and supports LGBT events and organizations such as Queer Awareness Days, OutTalk, National Coming Out Day, Queer/Straight Social and Political Alliance, MASQUE Magazine, Theatre Q, Querillas, and the Stanford Pride alumni group.
- The Native American Cultural Center (NACC) supports over 15 Native American student groups, including the Alaska Native Student Association, Hui ‘O Hawai’I, and the Stanford American Indian Organization (SAIO), which sponsors the annual Stanford Powwow, the West Coast’s largest gathering of its kind.
- The Women’s Community Center provides resources and support for groups such as Cap and Gown, Feminist Theory Reading Group, Coalition Against Sexual Assault, Students for Choice, Womenspeak, Society of Women in Engineering, and Stanford’s South Asian Women’s Alliance (Saheli).
- The Disability Resource Center, part of the Office of Accessible Education, offers campus access information and arranges accommodations to meet the needs of any student with a learning disability, handicap, chronic illness or physical limitation. It also acts as a liaison between students, faculty and student services offices. The center provides Braille and recorded materials, mobility training, transportation, special equipment, note taking and other resources.
